Well I must say you carry a pair of pretty ghosts
along with you
when you go to school you have them
stuffed into your lunchbox next to your sandwich
and then you take them out , neatly spread them out on the table and look at them with motherly pride while
you eat and crumbs from your bread fall into their faces
I must say you carry a pair of pretty ghosts with you
and I don't know if anyone told you before
or if they have even seen those ghosts that you take by the hand like
children except that children
most likely still have something like eyes
while yours just have two holes
where you plug your fingers in each day
and suck out their remains of energy to refresh yourself
And I must say you do know how to handle those ghosts
they sleep at your feet when you're in bed
warming your toes
They are wrapped around your neck when it's cold and it snows
prevent you from having a sore throat
or a clear mind
both
in a very clever way
You do have that way
To keep those ghosts in your wallet
from time to time let them slide out like others do with photos of relatives
and then you rub them between your fingertips
blocking their mouths and nose just long enough to give them the short sensation of suffocating
because they do need to be reminded from time to time
I mean those ghosts do need to be reminded that they need you
that they need you because you are a carnal phenomen while they are not more than rain stains on a window
their best times are over
and it is because of you
because of you that they are still of some meaning
you and how lovely you handle
those ghosts
of those you used to love
before each second of that feeling
sucked the blood out of them
before you made them look
like the combination of saliva blood and fear
that a beaten man spits out
to show that there's not more to get out of him
to beg you to stop
well
you did not stop
you wanted to keep those ghosts
you waited patiently for the second that they left those bodies
and kept them
kept them
